January is a Cold Month

All I want to do is lay in my bed and watch TV. This is the only time of year I feel this incredibly lazy, and while I half enjoy it, I loathe any kind of work that needs to be done. Looking at the list is just daunting.

Due tomorrow? My “first article” aka the second installment on my gluten-free column. Assorted homework. Formal review of tomorrow’s paper (I like that I can’t technically postpone this last one because I literally can’t do it until the paper comes out in the morning.) I’ve got a paper due on Tuesday which realistically I should also be working on. Plus an application due tonight and another due on Thursday.

Anddd another paper due on Thursday.

But I digress. We do not talk about the real world and it’s work load on the Internet.

Instead, we watch a ton of youtube videos and go on Netflix until it’s really detrimental to procrastinate any longer. Then, we stay up late and wake up early and make our Mondays really just great. Don’t even pretend like you don’t do the same. Lazy Sundays are just that.

So what now? Update the blog you pretend you’re committed to and watch another episode of skins with your books out and call it “multitasking.”

I’ll be honest, it’s almost 10pm and a Thursday, and I am burnt out from the hectic week. Yes, I still have my article to research and revise, an 84 minute documentary to watch and take notes on for my 1pm class tomorrow, and a double album to review for tomorrow, but am I worried about deadlines right now? Hell no. I am doing what I do best, and finding some lovely, helpful, and hilarious things to love online.

My top finds of the night are:

Thought Catalog writer Ryan O’Connell

Ryan O’Connell is 25 year old hilarious gay man living in East Village, New York. He has a ton of articles, most of them hilarious. I particularly enjoyed this one.

The Beauty Department

The Beauty Department has a TON of helpful, girly tips which is awesome for me because I eat this stuff up. There are tips to get ready if you oversleep, tutorials, trends, fresh ideas. It’s a girls best friend. As a bonus, the site is laid out really well, allowing for immaculate navigation. CHECK IT.

College Fashion

Now, this isn’t the first time I’ve been on College Fashion, but honestly, I just wasn’t a huge fan of the page navigation, and I found all the ads to be messy and distracting. However, I do like College Fashion as it is helpful (not to mention entirely applicable to me) and there is a lot of super cute stuff on there. Plus it’s lovely that the site is updated constantly. Consistent updates = consistent cuteness.

And of course I spent entirely too much time social networking. and on tumblr…

which believe it or not is an issue: 1. I have a lot of shoes and am running out of places to put them. and 2. Shoes are expensive!

Does that stop me from looking online? Of course not. The internet is far too easy.

But currently, since I’m broke, I have just been making wish lists of the shoes that I want to buy.

First on the list is a pair of TOMS

which is handy since it seems to rain in Pittsburgh almost as much as it does in Seattle…

Nike has an option to design your own high tops… which seems fun, right? And now that I’m out of high school I don’t feel like a douche bag for making my own dunks.

However I have what is referred to as a “Grecian foot” (which explains my clumsiness…) so I don’t think these are going to fit so well… not to mention they look like alien shoes. But in theory I like the idea of running barefootish.

Birkenstocks have gotten cute too.

Well… not the girliest list of shoes, but shoes need to be functional as well as cute right? In any case, I feel really broke.

And now I’m thinking about this.
